Young Cody

By and large, Dallas-based rapper and poet Young Cody is one of those rare break-out artists who not only shines brightly on the mic, but behind the scenes as well. He is currently attending Full Sail University in Florida and is majoring in Music Production and possesses a decidedly unique (and strong) skill-set tailor-made for this industry. Not only is he an accomplished and polished rapper, but he also dedicates his free time to writing poetry, acting, playing the piano, keyboards, drums (African and classical) and percussion instruments, serving as an independent producer as well as a production assistant for Theater Ashe.

Young Cody’s musical aspirations date back to elementary school when his first grade teacher taught him how to read music. From there, he became involved with the South Dallas Culture Center and learned the intricate percussive rhythms of African drums. As time went on, Young Cody was accepted into Dallas’ Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts where he studied classical music and music theory.

As a producer and actor, he has notably worked with Tara Nicole Youngblood in “The Elder Monologues” and has also had some of his original work featured in “When The Rain Falls” (as directed by the aforementioned Tara Nicole Youngblood). Young Cody has traveled across Texas showcasing not only his skills in the music industry, but also as a published poet (his professional mentor is none other than Dallas’ own spoken poet and playwright, Will Power) and as a music producer for all genres. As per information from his indie label (Perfect Collected Prodigies Entertainment) as well as his own web-site, he is currently promoting his new hit singles “Ice Cold” featuring AaKosya, “Taking Over” “Keeping It Real” and sharing his current video “Young King
